Los cables y mangueras, las bombas y los controles, todos unidos en varios \u00e1ngulos, podr\u00edan compararse con iconos de la ciencia ficci\u00f3n como el <em>Gigante de hierro<\/em> o la nave extraterrestre de la novela de H.G. Wells <em>La guerra de los mundos<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Son m\u00e1quinas magn\u00edficas. Impresionantes. Cuando Abar e Ipsen se fusionaron en 1985, los hornos verticales de vac\u00edo ten\u00edan una demanda constante.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Aunque estos hornos pod\u00edan hacer pr\u00e1cticamente todo lo que hac\u00edan sus hom\u00f3logos horizontales (recocido, cementaci\u00f3n, temple, revenido, etc.), los hornos verticales eran los \u00fanicos que pod\u00edan suministrar calor y revenido. <a href=\"https:\/\/ipsenglobal.com\/es\/knowledge-center\/quenching-technology-and-vacuum-heat-treating\/\">enfriamiento<\/a> con un alto nivel de control para piezas cil\u00edndricas muy grandes o muy largas con espesores variables. Imagine la secci\u00f3n transversal del fuselaje de un avi\u00f3n o la tobera del motor de un cohete orbital.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\"Los tratadores t\u00e9rmicos buscaban m\u00e1s capacidad de un horno en una sola carga. Intentar cargar una pieza grande o profunda en un horno horizontal se convierte en un problema\", a\u00f1ade Jim Grann, Director T\u00e9cnico de Ipsen. \"Cuando tienes una pieza de seis pies de di\u00e1metro y 25 pies de profundidad, \u00bfc\u00f3mo la cargas y descargas en un horno horizontal?\".<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Los hornos de vac\u00edo verticales de carga inferior permit\u00edan que piezas enormes como \u00e9sta se asentaran planas sobre la solera o suspendidas de la parte superior en una plantilla dentro de la zona caliente. De este modo, los ingenieros pod\u00edan aprovechar la geometr\u00eda de todo el di\u00e1metro de la c\u00e1mara y no verse limitados por la anchura de la secci\u00f3n transversal del recipiente a presi\u00f3n a diferentes alturas sobre la solera, como en un horno horizontal.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:15px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>\"Si tengo una pieza que estoy colocando en una cuna sobre una chimenea, y va a crecer de una forma en la que no puedo controlar el coeficiente de expansi\u00f3n, el peso puede hacer que la pieza se deforme. El almacenamiento de un cargador de este tipo cuando no se utiliza aumenta a\u00fan m\u00e1s el espacio ocupado\".<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-columns is-layout-flex wp-container-core-columns-is-layout-9d6595d7 wp-block-columns-is-layout-flex\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\" style=\"flex-basis:66.67%\">\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">M\u00e1s all\u00e1 de las piezas grandes<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Sin embargo, no todos los que compran un horno de vac\u00edo vertical tienen un flujo constante de piezas gigantescas. \"Ten\u00edamos una suposici\u00f3n que cambiamos hace unos tres a\u00f1os. Cre\u00edamos que la gente comprar\u00eda estos hornos verticales para poder introducir en ellos piezas grandes. Ahora, vemos que los usuarios construyen instalaciones con grandes placas redondas, como un horno de pizza\", explica Grann sobre esta tendencia. La demanda de manipular piezas m\u00e1s peque\u00f1as entre pedidos de piezas m\u00e1s grandes impuls\u00f3 la innovaci\u00f3n sist\u00e9mica en el dise\u00f1o de utillajes. Adem\u00e1s de las plataformas de varios niveles, los sistemas de cestas y las estanter\u00edas colgantes aprovecharon el mayor volumen total \u00fatil disponible en un horno de vac\u00edo vertical para piezas de dimensiones extra\u00f1as.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\"Esta demanda de utilizar dispositivos para manipular piezas m\u00e1s peque\u00f1as cambi\u00f3 nuestra forma de ver el dise\u00f1o de las zonas de control\", se\u00f1al\u00f3 Grann. Debido a la demanda de la industria aeroespacial de lecturas precisas de temperatura y control de procesos, las posiciones adicionales para el control de termopares dentro de los dise\u00f1os de los hornos de vac\u00edo verticales hicieron posible la gesti\u00f3n de procesos que manipulaban piezas con una amplia gama de geometr\u00edas al mismo tiempo.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\"Aunque un horno vertical sea muy alto, gran parte de la masa de las piezas puede estar en la parte inferior de la c\u00e1mara, con el hogar y la fijaci\u00f3n\", explica Heninger. \"Es posible que los clientes utilicen una carga parcial y que las piezas s\u00f3lo lleguen hasta el fondo de la c\u00e1mara. Los de carga superior destacan en el tratamiento de componentes excepcionalmente largos, como tubos de m\u00e1s de 300 pulgadas de longitud\", afirma Heninger.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Estos hornos, que a veces se introducen en un foso bajo el nivel del suelo, pueden endurecer enormes ejes de transmisi\u00f3n, desde grandes camiones hasta buques oce\u00e1nicos. \"Para un horno de carga superior se necesita una zona para el horno, pero tambi\u00e9n otra para introducir la pieza\", explica Heninger.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Imagine pistones gigantescos del tama\u00f1o de un semirremolque empujando \u00e1rboles de levas que recorren toda la longitud de un barco. Por cada barco que cruza el oc\u00e9ano, cada pist\u00f3n y cada eje requieren un tratamiento t\u00e9rmico. Sobre todo, el mantenimiento de la zona caliente es m\u00e1s complicado cuando los t\u00e9cnicos tienen que estar uno o dos pisos por encima del taller para sustituir las piezas consumibles. Hay que tener en cuenta otras consideraciones relacionadas con la gesti\u00f3n de la interfaz humana: escaleras, pasarelas y barandillas. Y, por supuesto, la altura del tejado de la instalaci\u00f3n limitar\u00e1 el tama\u00f1o del horno. \"Una historia con moraleja ense\u00f1\u00f3 a los instaladores y montadores a prestar atenci\u00f3n a la ubicaci\u00f3n del puente gr\u00faa, para que no se atascara en el lado equivocado de un horno vertical o perdiera la mitad de su recorrido\", recuerda Kowalewski.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Las instalaciones de un horno de vac\u00edo vertical tienden a ser m\u00e1s elaboradas para aprovechar el espacio y suelen costar m\u00e1s que las de un horno horizontal. Y aunque los hornos de carga inferior pueden ocupar menos espacio en funcionamiento, siguen necesitando m\u00e1s espacio. \"Los hornos verticales de carga inferior siguen necesitando espacio para que la solera descienda y se aleje de la base del horno para cargar y descargar las piezas\", se\u00f1ala Kowalewski.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\"Adem\u00e1s, las recetas para verticales y horizontales no son necesariamente intercambiables. Trasladar un proceso de una m\u00e1quina horizontal a una vertical puede requerir una recertificaci\u00f3n del proceso antes de que pueda continuar la producci\u00f3n\", a\u00f1ade Grann.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Mirando al futuro - Tendencias del vac\u00edo vertical<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>\"Tradicionalmente, los clientes utilizaban nuestros hornos verticales de vac\u00edo para el recocido y la soldadura fuerte de piezas, que s\u00f3lo requer\u00edan un enfriamiento r\u00e1pido de 2 bares, pero las empresas aeroespaciales est\u00e1n empezando a solicitarnos soluciones de enfriamiento r\u00e1pido a mayor presi\u00f3n\", observa Heninger. \"Hemos empezado a ver m\u00e1s demanda de hornos de 6 bares hasta 15 bares por parte de empresas aeroespaciales y estamos construyendo m\u00e1s de estos a medida que aumenta la demanda.\"<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Lo que Ipsen ha observado a lo largo de los a\u00f1os es una tendencia de los clientes que compran un horno de vac\u00edo vertical a a\u00f1adir m\u00e1s a su flota con el tiempo.
