Mais c'est souvent le processus de trempe (ou de refroidissement) qui d\u00e9termine en grande partie les r\u00e9sultats finaux.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Qu'est-ce que la trempe ?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>La trempe est le processus de refroidissement des pi\u00e8ces m\u00e9talliques apr\u00e8s avoir atteint et maintenu une temp\u00e9rature sp\u00e9cifique pendant le traitement thermique. La m\u00e9thode et la vitesse de la trempe d\u00e9terminent g\u00e9n\u00e9ralement la cat\u00e9gorie d'un processus de traitement thermique. Les proc\u00e9d\u00e9s de traitement thermique les plus courants sont le recuit, la normalisation, la trempe, le revenu et la trempe superficielle. En revanche, un processus de refroidissement plus rapide permet d'obtenir des pi\u00e8ces durcies en surface ou \u00e0 c\u0153ur, n\u00e9cessaires \u00e0 la fabrication de tout type de pi\u00e8ces, des boulons aux forets en passant par les arbres \u00e0 cames. C'est \u00e0 peu pr\u00e8s l'\u00e9quivalent d'un plongeon dans la partie profonde d'une piscine de trois m\u00e8tres, ou de la pression d'air \u00e0 l'int\u00e9rieur d'un pneu de voiture tr\u00e8s plat. \"C'\u00e9tait une technologie de pointe \u00e0 l'\u00e9poque\", se souvient M. Moller.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Aujourd'hui, Ipsen a fabriqu\u00e9 des fours avec des moteurs de refroidissement de 600 hp fournissant jusqu'\u00e0 15 bars de pression de trempe. C'est environ dix fois la pression des machines d'il y a 45 ans.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>La pression des gaz est importante en raison de la thermodynamique. Plus un mat\u00e9riau est dense, qu'il s'agisse d'un solide, d'un liquide ou d'un gaz, plus la chaleur se transf\u00e8re facilement d'une substance \u00e0 l'autre. C'est la raison pour laquelle une tasse thermique isol\u00e9e sous vide peut garder les boissons chaudes chaudes et les boissons froides plus longtemps qu'un gobelet en plastique - le vide minimise le transfert de chaleur.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Moller a expliqu\u00e9 pourquoi la pression de trempe est un aspect si important de l'innovation au fil des ans : \"Lorsque vous triplez la pression du gaz, vous doublez la vitesse de refroidissement d'un syst\u00e8me de trempe et des pi\u00e8ces \u00e0 tremper\".<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Et lorsqu'il s'agit de durcir des m\u00e9taux sp\u00e9cifiques utilis\u00e9s pour fabriquer des fili\u00e8res, un syst\u00e8me de trempe rapide et propre est essentiel. Par exemple, \"lorsque les clients recherchent des fili\u00e8res pour l'extrusion d'aluminium afin de fabriquer des pi\u00e8ces utilis\u00e9es dans un v\u00e9hicule \u00e9lectrique, ces fours sous vide \u00e0 haute pression fournissent des fili\u00e8res propres qui sont durcies en surface pour assurer la long\u00e9vit\u00e9 de la fili\u00e8re\", explique M. Moller. Au d\u00e9but, 90 % des innovations en mati\u00e8re de traitement thermique portaient sur le processus de chauffage. Finalement, la n\u00e9cessit\u00e9 de r\u00e9duire les pi\u00e8ces rebut\u00e9es en raison de fissures et de distorsions thermiques a exig\u00e9 de meilleures solutions pour le processus de trempe. \"Cela a \u00e9t\u00e9 un grand changement\", explique Jim Grann, directeur technique d'Ipsen. \"Aujourd'hui, l'\u00e9quilibre est plus proche de 50\/50 lorsqu'il s'agit de d\u00e9velopper des technologies de chauffage et de trempe.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>M. Grann participe au processus d'innovation depuis 1978, date \u00e0 laquelle il a travaill\u00e9 pour Abar avant sa fusion avec Ipsen. \"Ce qui stimule l'innovation dans le domaine de la trempe, c'est la n\u00e9cessit\u00e9 de cr\u00e9er le refroidissement le plus rapide possible, tout en permettant de contr\u00f4ler le processus. Des vitesses de refroidissement non contr\u00f4l\u00e9es peuvent ajouter des contraintes inh\u00e9rentes aux pi\u00e8ces. Refroidir plus vite sans d\u00e9formation est la cl\u00e9\".<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Les commandes PLC d'aujourd'hui peuvent r\u00e9agir en temps r\u00e9el pour modifier une recette en cours de processus si les thermocouples d\u00e9tectent une r\u00e9action anormale pendant la trempe. \"Par exemple, une recette peut indiquer que la temp\u00e9rature \u00e0 c\u0153ur et la temp\u00e9rature de surface d'une pi\u00e8ce ne doivent pas d\u00e9passer un \u00e9cart de temp\u00e9rature tr\u00e8s pr\u00e9cis. L'automate programmable peut surveiller les temp\u00e9ratures et ralentir la trempe en r\u00e9duisant la pression, la circulation des gaz ou m\u00eame en r\u00e9chauffant le four. Les pi\u00e8ces chauffent d'abord \u00e0 l'ext\u00e9rieur, mais elles refroidissent aussi d'abord \u00e0 l'ext\u00e9rieur, ce qui permet au four de r\u00e9agir en cons\u00e9quence\", explique M. Grann.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Les diff\u00e9rentes lignes de fours sous vide d'Ipsen, associ\u00e9es \u00e0 des syst\u00e8mes PLC modernes, permettent aux utilisateurs finaux de mieux contr\u00f4ler leur processus qu'auparavant. Les lignes TITAN, MetalMaster et TurboTreater ont une large gamme de capacit\u00e9s de trempe en utilisant une conception de flux \u00e0 360 degr\u00e9s qui peut servir des douzaines de processus de traitement thermique diff\u00e9rents. Les lignes sp\u00e9cialis\u00e9es comme le Turbo\u00b2Treater et le VUTK peuvent \u00eatre con\u00e7ues pour r\u00e9soudre des recettes sp\u00e9cifiques et fr\u00e9quemment r\u00e9p\u00e9t\u00e9es qui n\u00e9cessitent un contr\u00f4le important du flux de gaz de trempe, fournissant un refroidissement directionnel du gaz \u00e0 partir de n'importe quel angle \u00e0 l'int\u00e9rieur de la chambre.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\"Parfois, un flux de gaz unidirectionnel est judicieux.
