Since its establishment in 1994, Ipsen China has been a prominent player in the thermal processing industry. Over the years, the company has witnessed significant milestones and accomplishments, reflecting their commitment to innovation and customer satisfaction. From the foundation of their plant in 1997 to their strategic shift in 2020, Ipsen China has undergone remarkable transformations. In this article, we delve into Ipsen China’s journey from the 1990s through the 2020s, highlighting key events, technological advancements, and the recent strategic shift that reshaped their business operations.
1990s
Ipsen in Shanghai, China was founded in 1994 and officially opened their plant three years later with a grand opening ceremony. In 1997, they also produced their first continuous furnace line for Liuzhou ZF Machinery Co. Ltd., an automotive parts manufacturer (pictured right).
2000s
In 2004, Ipsen China celebrated their 10th anniversary with their first international customer conference. During this decade, the factory was completed after three phases of construction and Ipsen China was in full production.
2010s
In the next decade, they introduced a range of new platform products to the Chinese market, including the new ATLAS Atmosphere Furnace, and the MetaProS and MetaProR vacuum furnaces. They also produced several fully automated lines in the Chinese market, including one for Zhenjiang Hydraulic.
2020s
In 2020, Ipsen China shifted its strategy to focus solely on aftermarket service, ceasing production operations. To fit this new business model, they moved to a new location in Minhang Zhongke Park. The first major aftermarket project after the restructuring was an atmosphere line upgrade for SEW-EURODRIVE (Tianjin) Co., Ltd. This was a milestone for Ipsen China starting its venture into customer service business development.
Innovating for the Future
As Ipsen China continues its journey into the future, their unwavering commitment to excellence, innovation, and customer satisfaction will undoubtedly propel them to greater heights. With a new location in Minhang Zhongke Park and a sharpened focus on aftermarket services, they are well-positioned to meet the growing demands of the Chinese market and exceed customer expectations.
