With Lydia Nieuwenhuis, Ipsen Director of HR

Introduction

November is National Career Development Month, an opportunity to recognize the value of continued learning, professional growth and long-term career planning.

Throughout 2026, Ipsen employees have taken advantage of professional development opportunities designed to strengthen technical expertise, build leadership skills and prepare for future roles.

Expanding Knowledge Through Training

In 2026, 17 employees completed a total of 253 courses through the Metal Treating Institute (MTI) Academy, earning 485 credit hours. Additionally, 11 employees participated in professional development programs through MRA, supporting continued learning beyond their day-to-day responsibilities.

Recognizing Career Growth

Professional development also means creating opportunities for employees to advance within the organization. Ipsen has recorded 17 promotions in 2026, as employees take on new roles and responsibilities across the business.

Planning for the Future

In 2026, Ipsen launched a formal Succession Planning Program to better understand employees’ career interests and identify opportunities for professional growth.

Following input from executive leadership and department leaders, initial implementation began in Engineering, supported by a voluntary employee career development survey.

The program will expand department by department throughout 2027, helping Ipsen strengthen internal talent pipelines, identify development needs and prepare for future leadership and business requirements.

From technical training to career planning, these initiatives represent an ongoing effort to support employee development while building the skills and expertise needed for the future.
