Dave Pearson did not originally plan to spend his career working in thermal processing, but in the 34 years he has worked for Ipsen, his efforts have resulted in a win for both parties. Dave sets an example of what working from the ground up means.
Originally hired as a temporary employee in the stockroom, Dave soon earned a full time position. As Manufacturing Engineer, he learned the basics of calculating raw material requirements and created routings for the components and assemblies we manufactured.
“My dad taught me very early on the value of working hard to reach my goals and quietly led by example,” said Dave. “Act like you’ve been there before”, his dad liked to say.
Later, Dave became Production Control Supervisor, where his favorite project was maintaining the highest level of on-time component shipments Ipsen had seen at the time. He recalls spending hours “coordinating the constantly changing priorities with the planners, purchasing and manufacturing groups,” which ultimately led to the project’s success.
Dave’s role today as Hot Zones Product Leader is no different – it takes detail and coordination. Along with calculating material and labor costs to create accurately scoped hot zone proposals, he supports Ipsen’s customers and sales teams.
